This policy explains how the Peepal app (previously announced as Peepal Care) handles your information. Peepal is being built by Ideaxecution Technologies (OPC) Private Limited (“Ideaxecution”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in India, and is not yet publicly available. We will update this policy before launch if anything below changes. Our general privacy policy also applies.
In short
- Peepal helps you send uplifting messages and images to people you care about, and to support others.
- You create an account with your name, phone number and email.
- The app reads your contacts, camera or photos only when you choose a feature that needs them, and only after you allow it.
- We do not sell your information or show you ads based on it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, phone number and email address, used to create your account, sign you in and let people you know find you.
- Messages and images you share: stored so they can be delivered to the people you send them to and shown in your history.
- Contacts (optional, with your permission): used on your device to help you pick who to send a message to. We upload only the contacts you choose to message, not your whole address book.
- Camera and photos (optional, with your permission): used only to take or pick the images you decide to share.
- Usage information: which features you use and when, so we can improve the app.
- Technical information: device model, operating system and app version, IP address, and a token that lets us send you notifications.
How we use it
- To run the app: create your account, deliver messages and images, and send notifications you’ve allowed.
- To keep Peepal safe: prevent spam, abuse and fraud, and enforce our rules.
- To improve the app and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- People you message see your name, your message and any image you send them.
- Service providers who run parts of the app for us under contract, such as cloud hosting and storage, push notifications, and crash and usage reporting. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
- A buyer of our business, if that ever happens, who must keep to this policy.
We do not sell your information and do not share it with advertisers.
Your choices and rights
- You can turn off contacts, camera, photo and notification access at any time in your phone’s settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
- You can view and edit your account details in the app.
- You can delete your account in the app or by emailing us. We then delete your account, messages and images within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to stop a particular use, by emailing contact@ideaxecution.com.
- In India you can also nominate someone to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (below) and then the Data Protection Board of India. In the EU and UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content while your account is open, and delete them within 30 days after you delete your account. Technical logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Children
Peepal is for people aged 18 and over. Anyone younger may use it only with the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian. If we learn that a child is using Peepal without that consent, we will delete the account.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections and is stored with access controls. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
Grievance Officer
Sanniv Khare, Ideaxecution Technologies (OPC) Private Limited. Email: contact@ideaxecution.com. We share our postal address on request.
Changes
We will update this policy and the date above before any change in how the app uses your information, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
